DJS PAREJA TOUR EUROPE 2013!

Los Djs Pareja se embarcan en su tercera gira europea de la mano de su sello Cómeme y con el apoyo de Kompakt Booking Agency, comenzando el 14 de junio en Barcelona y finalizando el 21 de julio en Berlín. Esta nueva gira los llevará por siete ciudades del viejo continente e importantes festivales - c/o Pop (Colonia, Alemania) y Calvi On The Rocks (Córcega, Francia) - donde compartirán cartel con artistas como Matías Aguayo, Auntie Flo, Optimo, Barnt, Joe Goddard (Hot Chip) y Duke Dumont, entre muchos otros. Somewhere in Ibiza, ca. 1989: A suave gentleman, nationality unknown, with an inverse pyramid of tanned skin glowing beneath the icy white of his unbuttoned shirt, is cornering his prey at the dark end of the bar. “I want to tell you something,” he purrs. “Something about your language, about your roots.” Strobe lights flash in time to the robo-disco throb. “What are you waiting for? Sing in Spanish,” he whispers, drawing closer. “Spanish is beautiful…”

That’s one possible interpretation, in any case, of DJs Pareja‘s “Spanish Is Beautiful,” released last year on London’s History Clock label. DJs Pareja (which loosely translates as “The DJ Couple”) are Argentina’s Mariano Caloso and Diego Irasusta; since 1999, they have been fusing classic dance-music tropes with a sort of arch avant-gardism — a combination evident in a 2000 mix CD that brought together the glitch minimalism of Alva Noto, Oval, and Porter Ricks with songs by Madonna, Culture Club, and Frankie Goes to Hollywood. In 2009 they turned up on Matias Aguayo and Gary Pimiento’s Cómeme label (translation: “Eat Me”); now Cómeme are giving away an in-house remix of “Spanish Is Beautiful.” If anything, it’s even sleazier, darker, and more twisted than the original. Acid squiggles drip like cold sweat beneath dry-ice blasts, and disembodied phrases from Black Box’s “Ride on Time” weave in and out of the mix, reminders of a dance floor that feels impossibly far away. Somewhere in the fog, hovering just beyond pupils swollen to the size of dinner plates, our yacht-hopping Lothario is whispering: “What are you waiting for…”

DIEGORS
Diego Morales ha desarrollado una versátil carrera de músico y productor desde principios de esta década, repartido entre su proyecto electrónico solista y su banda Fredi Michel. Diegors presentó sus primeras composiciones inspiradas en la electrónica abstracta y la cadencia del dub jamaiquino, en el disco El dub de los pobres (2003). De él fueron fabricadas sólo treinta copias. A cuatro años de su debut, lanzó el disco Calmao (2007), uno de los mejores discos de ambient producidos en Chile, formado por ocho piezas cinemáticas construidas con texturas de sintetizadores que prescinden de la percusión. Desde mediados de la década se presenta regularmente como dj y actualmente trabaja en producciones donde los ritmos bailables son el eje. Ha publicado el track “O sea hello“ con la participación de R. Costa (Fredi Michel) en el compilado “Amigos Cómeme” y ha editado un 12" junto a Matias Aguayo con el proyecto “Diegors & the Don“ . Hoy Diegors trabaja en su nuevo ep que saldrá a mediados de este año también por la disquera Cómeme.

ANA HELDER
Artista de la ciudad de Rosario. Produce música desde el 2003. Como dj organizó fiestas de manera independiente con otros artistas desde el 2005, y a partir del 2008 mezcló en La Macarena, Cero, Planeta X (Rosario), Dengue (Buenos Aires), Constitución (Santiago de Chile), entre otros lugares. Su estilo muta permanentemente, entre el acid house, techno, electro, funk, uk funky, ghetto blunt, disco y neo disco. Próximamente editará su primer EP por el sello latino-germano Cómeme.
